Preparing for Monday

On Monday, I’m scheduled for my myocardial scintigraphy. I’m not too thrilled about the radioactive part, but what’s really putting me in a bit of a worried state of mind is the maximal exercise test.

Part of me genuinely wants to go through with it — I like knowing what’s going on with my heart and circulation. I really do want to be able to train without restrictions again.

All the previous tests — like the angiogram and MRI with medical stress test, CT and some more — have shown that there’s a myocardial bridge and problems in the circulation and, but they haven’t been able to confirm that the MB is the actual cause of my symptoms, due to the way the tests were performed.

So on Monday, I’ll be doing everything I can to push my heart rate to the max and try to trigger those symptoms! It might cost me a few weeks of feeling unwell afterward (I tend to get sick when I go above 120–130 bpm, and my max is around 170-ish). But hopefully, this will be the last thing I need to do to prove there’s actually something going on — and if not, well, maybe it really is all in my head (since 2003) 😅.

I’m preparing by cleaning the house, stocking up on food, and doing a few fun but low-energy things. It’s a bit of a challenge, since even cleaning feels like a workout these days. So, my trip to the gym is cancelled — I need to save my strength for Monday.

Wish me luck – Linköping here I come!
